My sword stands firm in my hand
I crap it tightly for the upcoming battle
My shield is ready to protect my brother
My rage guides my will to preserve
They are marching towards our battlements

I made this promise to myself
For all those who lay now dead
My dirge will be heard to the sky
Their blood will be spilled on this land
On this battlefield, on this day
I can feel my blade’s thirst for flesh
They come for me with force

A lonely wolf against so many
My valor in battle will sign

A macabre sight

During a siege in an unknown country
Flaming arrows lighting the sky
War machines firing at the walls
Cavalry and infantry waiting the call
A divine sign to attack and please the Gods
Cold were those nights
Cold like the hearts of fallen men
Far away from home he was fighting
His destiny at last to meet
Under the starless sky he shed a tear
For his death is what he ever wanted
A glorious one defending his land and king
With dozen of foes slew by his sword
A brave man devoted his life to the crown
Fighting side by side with his brothers in arms
Spreading death and tremor to their enemies
Their steel and shield unmatched by anyone

The second (03:01) I heard that angry bellow gurgling upwards as from the depths of hell, conquering the composition, rising in intensity, and climaxing more than half a minute later (a geyser of blood spouting up from Tartaros, breaching subterranean roofs and spewing forth onto the face of the earth), I was engrossed hook, line and sinker. Drawn into the underworldly dark. Vocal performances like these never fail to conjure a grin on my face.
